Our History

1950’s – Ernest Ogden founded the church in Caribou and was a member of the Assemblies of the Lord Jesus Christ (ALJC).

From then until 2000, many pastors served and a building was built at 133 Fort Fairfield Road.

Unfortunately, after a period of hardship economically and a loss of leadership, the church was ready to close its doors and allocate any assets to other ministries.

Myron Powell and his family were elected by the eight remaining members to become the pastor of the church on May 31, 2000 and took the helm on June 4, 2000.

July 30, 2000 – the church was re-established as Solid Rock Worship Center by a unanimous vote of the eight remaining members.

January 2, 2007 – remodeling began that included all new ceiling in classrooms, the expansion of our community room, painting of trim in sanctuary, new mantle around baptismal, wheelchair ramp, tiled floor in lobby, new kitchen cabinets, new flooring downstairs, upgraded bathrooms, etc.

Come make history with us as we continue to grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!

Our purpose is “to live by faith, be known by love, and be a voice of hope” and is explained as follows:

  • The un-churched discover Jesus Christ and learn to start living by faith as a new believer.
  • The new believer then becomes known by love maturing into a true disciple of Jesus Christ.
  • The disciple then becomes a voice of hope to their community, leading others to a place where they can discover Jesus Christ for themselves.

This is our purpose, our mission, our vision – our mandate from God.  It is fulfilled through active ministry opportunities reaching children, teens, young adults, and elders alike.  While not everyone is an apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor, or teacher; everyone IS a minister and can do something in the kingdom of God.  In summary, we don’t just “come” to church, we “become” the church!

Our praise and worship is dynamic and free.

Our daily living is in honesty and integrity.

Come see what we’re all about – you won’t be disappointed…
